1. Information We Collect
Personal Information: When you register, we collect your mobile phone number (used as your permanent account identifier), name, and optionally your email address.
Location Data: We collect your general location (district/village) to show you local content. We do not continuously track your GPS location.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app including pages visited, searches performed, and features used to improve our services.
Device Information: We collect device type, operating system, and browser type for technical purposes and push notifications.
Content You Create: Any listings, classifieds, blood requests, or other content you create is stored and may be visible to other users based on your settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Nattukoottam service
- To send you relevant push notifications (blood requests, local news, events)
- To connect you with workers, businesses, and services in your area
- To verify your identity via OTP and maintain account security
- To improve our services through analytics
- To send administrative communications about the service
3. Phone Number Policy
Your mobile phone number is your permanent account identifier and cannot be changed after registration. It is used solely for authentication and, if you choose to show it, for contact purposes in your listings. We will never share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Contact Information Visibility
When you create a worker profile, business listing, or classified, you can choose whether to show your phone number publicly. You can also choose to only allow WhatsApp contact. You control your contact visibility through the Contact Settings on each listing.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Firebase (Google): For OTP authentication and push notifications
- Google Analytics: For anonymised usage analytics
- Meta (Facebook): Via Meta Pixel for aggregate ad performance measurement
- Hotjar: For anonymised session recordings to improve UX
6. Push Notifications
We send push notifications for blood requests, local news, and events relevant to your area. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings or app settings.
7. Data Retention
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Application logs are automatically cleared after 3 months. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at info@nattukoottam.co.in.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, JWT tokens, and OTP-based authentication. We never store plain-text passwords.
9. Children's Privacy
Nattukoottam is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
